A Whole Lot of Lyrics You Did Not Ask For

April 14, 2011

Day 10. We pretended to be professors. I was teaching Hebrew.

I got a little happy with the contrast scale on that last pic.

Skirt: Gap. Shirt: Target. Shoes: Report from DSW. Pin: I don’t remember. Tights: Forever 21. Hair: Continued laziness.

I attended a scholarship luncheon yesterday, so I had to be Dressed Up. It was super chilly so I had to wear tights. As I was trying to decide what to wear, I realized that I have only one pair of black shoes in this challenge, and they’re open toed and open heeled wedges. I am nervous about the idea of wearing open shoes with tights. Maybe I should be over that by now, but I’m not. So I had to change things up in order to try to make a brown shoe work. Not sure if I succeeded, but I tried. I am realizing that I probably did include too many shoes in this challenge. I don’t feel like I have a clothing shortage; I just feel like there are a couple of pairs of shoes that I’m not going to end up wearing often. Poor, lonely shoes.

I have not been feeling berry good the past couple of days. I have a slight sore throat and am kind of achy and cold. I’m not feeling awful enough to justify not working (especially since if I make that decision, I will literally fail some things), but I feel awful enough to justify complaining to anyone and everyone who will listen. Anyone and Everyone have stopped listening, so I’ve turned to you, bloggy friends!

Lately my iTunes playlist rotates among Mumford and Sons, The Civil Wars, and The Avett Brothers. Do you guys like those groups too? I love them. Favorite Mumford and Sons line: “It seems that all my bridges have been burned, but you say that’s exactly how this grace thing works.” Favorite Civil Wars line: “I don’t love you, but I always will.” Favorite Avett Brothers line: “Always remember there was nothing worth sharing, like the love that let us share our name.”

Umm, I have just realized that no one — no one at all — asked me to share my favorite lyrics from any of these bands. So, extra treat for you? Anyway, it is a pretty mellow playlist that I’ve been listening to — you wouldn’t want to use it while going running, for example. Lucky for me, I don’t run. I sit. And type things on a computer. And eat. Mellow works just fine.

Not that I have ever watched any of those shows, but how do the Real Housewives of Any Random City stay so skinny? They drink constantly! Maybe white wine is their only sustenance. That and tons of money.

Ok, I need to go find someone else to complain to about my barely sore throat.

God is good to us, yes? I think He is. Have a lovely day, friendsies!

Court, I miss you. Call off this wedding nonsense and move to CO. Or just bring him with you.

I love lyrics. I also love your Hebrew. And I forgot to ask what it means. Probably something better than what I wrote on the board…

I just wrote random words because I barely know how to spell in Hebrew. “Israel, Ruth, Love.” Profound, I know.

Your random lyrics really hit me today. I love, “Always remember there was nothing worth sharing, like the love that let us share our name.” I think I might use it as my status today. Also, I am going to Target today. I don’t think I will find anything that looks as cute on me as your shirt from Target does on you. Feel better soon.

Come to the Mumford and Sons concert with me/us this summer! June…at the Filmore, maybe? Plan on it. Shall I get you a ticket?
